In the afternoons, we divide into our older and younger groups of campers, and they take turns attending dean’s program and optional activities. Optionals are much less structured and our staff gets to be a little more creative with their activities. Campers can rotate through as many activities as they want at their own leisure. They can also visit the canteen (our snack store) during this time.
Some of these activities include:
-
Slip ‘n Slide Kickball
-
Cloud Watching
-
Tie Dye
-
Leather Working
-
Nature Walks
-
Gaga Ball
Every evening and most afternoons, all of our campers participate in all camp games and activities. These events change each week and each summer. These events are done as a whole camp, but in competitions, we do divide campers by age groups.
Some of these events include:
-
Camp Weed 500
-
Counselor Hunt
-
Alien
-
Talent Show
-
Weed Wide Olympics
-
Water Carnival
-
Cabin vs. Cabin Games
Cabin time is much more than time for our campers to spend inside their cabins. Cabin counselors will work together with their campers to come up with ideas for things to do as a cabin. Some days, they may decide they want to stay in the cabin and have a dance party. Other days they may decide they want to go to the pool, lake, or even come up with a creative adventure to go on. This time gives campers the opportunity to try even more activities, as well as a time to bond and be creative as a cabin.
