Majors and Minors

Majors, Minors, and More

At Camp Weed, we believe our older campers need choices. To give them that, we let them choose their major and minor activities for the week. Majors and minors are used in Sessions 1, 2, and 3 for grades seven through 12.

When registering, campers choose majors that they’ll take part in all week. Experienced counselors and staff lead each major, giving campers an in-depth experience in the activity they choose.

Our 2017 majors include:

  • High Ropes

  • Archery

  • Sports

  • Aquatics

  • Movie Making

  • Outdoor Living

  • Photography*

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Beginner Guitar*

  • Intermediate Guitar*

In these majors, campers will learn more about the activity and get a chance to practice their skills each day.

*Activities with an asterisk require equipment from home. We do not provide guitars or a camera. Cell phones will not count as a camera.

Minors provide less exposure to activities than majors, but they still give campers the opportunity to connect with the activity! They’re led by experienced counselors who coach the campers and make activities fun.

Our 2017 minors include:

  • Raft Building

  • High Ropes

  • Low Ropes

  • Tie Dye

  • Kickball

  • Hammocks

  • Indoor Games

  • Bikes

  • Yoga

  • Leather Working

  • Ultimate Frisbee

  • Messy Games

  • Pool Games

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Flag Football

  • Dodgeball

In addition to our majors and minors, older campers still participate in our favorite all-camp activities and our dean’s program.

Is there something your camper is interested in that isn’t on our list? Contact us and suggest it!

Younger Campers

Our younger campers attending Sessions 4 and 5 will still get to experience our great camp activities, just on a smaller scale. Their activity time is less in-depth and allows them to explore many activities they may not know they’re great at!
