New Water-New Life
A plan for wetlands and lake restoration, White Lake, Camp Weed & Cerveny Conference Center
To provide recreational opportunities for our children, restore the wild beauty of the site and habitat for north Florida's rich aquatic life. Click to see video -> New Water New Life
The project has five steps;
ONE
Receive reclaimed water from City of Live Oak. (400,000 gallons per day for 20 years)
(This water will not be put into our lake)
TWO
Build structures (percolation ponds) necessary to receive reclaimed water. (Cost $100,000)
THREE
Allow reclaimed water to naturally percolate through soil to recharge Floridan Aquifer.(Reclaimed water will not be put into the lake.)
FOUR
Install water well, pump the equivelent of 90% of the volume allowed to percolate, into the lake.
(Cost $50,000)
The resource (Floridan Aquifer) will always receive 10% more that the amount removed. At times there will be 100% going to the aquifer and none removed.
FIVE
Create a "lagoon" to receive the first water from the well. This lagoon will be located in the vicinity of Mandi's Chapel. Once the "lagoon" fills it will overflow into the lake. (Cost $150,000)
Total cost $300,000
Contributions are needed to complete the project.
